Human Rights Committee Chairman to Report on Police Incompetence

Humane Rights Committee Chairman Elene Tevdoradze criticizes the General Prosecutor Gia Meparishvili’s activity. On the special press conference in Strasbourg scheduled on September 25 Tevdoradze will report about the Georgian law enforcement agencies activities. She can present to the Council of Europe the facts that confirm the violation of law by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor’s Office.

As an example Elene Tevdoradze told the journalists today, that the investigation on murder of journalist Giorgi Sanaia is considering personal motives as the only reason of assassination, while she has evidences that can proof the connection between the murder and the situation in the Pankisi gorge.

Sanaia knew the facts concerning relationship between the high officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the drug dealers in Pankisi, announced MP. Tevdoradze stated that she has already informed Prosecutor’s Office about this, but so far they make no reaction.
