Georgia and Armenia to Initiate Military Cooperation

Defense Ministers of Georgia and Armenia declared today that two states are ready to establish military cooperation. After the meeting they stated that the cooperation would not be against other states.

Georgian-Armenian cooperation is vital for the security in the Caucasus region, Defense Minister of Georgia Davit Tevzadze stated after the meeting with his Armenian counterpart.

Defense Minister of Armenia Serge Sargsian initiated a two-day official visit in Georgia on October 25. He intends to meet President Shevardnadze as well. 

Armenian authorities are concerned about the Georgian-Turkey military cooperation. Statement made by the Defense Ministers of Georgia and Armenia today is thought to defuse tensions in Georgian-Armenian relations.
