Chechen Field Commander Gelaev in Rustavi, Near Tbilisi – Abkhazians Report
Wounded Chechen field commander Ruslan Gelaev is in Rustavi hospital, near Tbilisi, capital of Georgia; Russian news agency Interfax reports quoting Chief of General Staff of breakaway Republic of Abkhazia Vladimir Arshba.
Abkhazians say that Gelaev was wounded early in October during the fighting against the Abkhazian military units and after was carried to the Rustavi hospital.
In the press-center of Georgia’s Security Ministry at 10:35 am had no information about the report.
Chechen fighters together with the Georgian guerrillas participated in the fighting against Abkhazians in October. Abkhazians report that they have already destroyed combined Chechen-Georgian units.
