Kist Population Demand Transparency in Pankisi Gorge

(Tbilisi, February 13, Civil Georgia) – Representatives of Kist [Georgian citizens of Chechen origin, living in Pankisi gorge] population, demand the journalists to arrive in Pankisi gorge to confirm, that there are no Afghan terrorists in the gorge.

On February 11 Charge d’Affairs of the United States in Georgia Philip Remler did not rule out presence of terrorists from Afghanistan in Pankisi gorge.

Kists also expressed disappointment with the operation, which Georgian law enforcement agencies pass in Pankisi gorge to crackdown on criminals harboring in the gorge.
