Western Military Experts Visit Vaziani Military Base

(Tbilisi, April 5, Civil Georgia) – Commander of NATO Joint Command South Central Europe Lieutenant-General Nikolaos Katagas and member of International Board of Advisors on Security Issues of Georgia General-Mayor Frantz Verner visited Vaziani military base on April 5.

11th battalion of Georgian Defense Ministry is deployed at the former Russian military base. The battalion is to be trained by the US military instructors in anti-terror activity.

In June, 2002 Vaziani military base will host military exercises Best Effort – 2002, which will be held in the frames of NATO Partnership for Peace program.
