Watchdog NGO Talks About Pre-Election Violations
(Tbilisi, June 1, Civil Georgia) – “Almost all pre-election procedures were violated before the elections of June 2”, says the press release of the election watchdog “International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy.”
According to the organization, the amendments made in the election code were made to satisfy the interests of some political parties rather than the real improvment of the procedures.
Representatives of the organization found numerous facts of involvement of the police in the pre-election campaign of the political parties and pressure from the governmental structures towards the candidates in the regions of Georgia.
