By-Elections Appointed in Rustavi

(Tbilisi, June 2, Civil Georgia) – Central Election Commission took the decision that the by-elections of the self-governance bodies in Rustavi will be held on June 9.

Elections of Sakrebulo [city council] and Mayor in Rustavi, main town of Kvemo Kartli region was canceled as the unknown persons stole ballots. 

Up to 200 residents of Rustavi town, Kvemo Kartli region held protest rally in front of the Central Election Commission building today.

Protesters at the CEC building are mainly supporters of the Rustavi Mayoral candidate Merab Tkeshelashvili.
