Parliament Debates on Local Elections

(Tbilisi, June 4, Civil Georgia) – Today Parliamentary session discusses the results and the violations during the local self-governance elections on June 2.

MP Giorgi Baramidze from Christian-Conservative Party – Zurab Zhvania’s Team demanded at the session to create Parliamentary commission, which will investigate the role and responsibility of the central and the local authorities in the violations during the elections.

MPs emphasize on frauds in the electorate lists that was the most frequent violation. Thousands of Tbilisi voters could not vote because they were not in the electorates’ lists.
