Russian Envoy Visits Breakaway Abkhazia
(Tbilisi, June 11, Civil Georgia) – Russian President’s personal envoy for the settlement of the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict Valeri Loshchinin visits breakaway Abkhazia on June 11-13, Russian Foreign Ministry reports.
During the visit Russian official will hold the meetings with the leadership of the breakaway province and Commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces deployed in the conflict zone.
The main problem concerning the Abkhazian settlement remains return of Georgian IDPs to their homes in Abkhazia and implementation of the document on distribution of the constitutional rights between Sukhumi (capital of breakaway province) and Tbilisi, adopted by the UN Security Council. Abkhazian side rejects to discuss the proposed document.
