Abkhazian Government in Exile Holds Assembly

(Tbilisi, Civil Georgia, July 16, 2002) – Tbilisi-based Abkhazian government in exile holds the meeting today to discuss the future activity.

On July 31 the UN Security Council will discuss situation in Abkhazia. Tamaz Nadareishvili, the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Abkhazia says that in case the resolution adopted by the Security Council is not acceptable for legitimate government they will act independently to take over the breakaway province.

The Georgian guerrillas also set an ultimatum; they intend to launch military operations against the Abkhaz separatists after August 1.
