Expert Claims Shortfall in July Budget

(Tbilisi, Civil Georgia, August 10, 2002) – Head of the Budgetary Office of the Parliament Roman Gotsiridze says budget of July is not fulfilled as the government claims.

“The budget did not received 3 million Lari from Adjarian Autonomous Republic,” Gotsiridze told the GEA news agency.

According to the expert the budget received 15 million Lari as international grant, while the 6 million was scheduled in July.

Gotsiridze says that the surplus amount of grants, 9 million Lari, should have been received in the previous months, “that is why the government reported on fulfilling budget in July that is wrong,” the Head of Budgetary Office stated.
