Tbilisi Offered Moscow Joint Investigation

(Tbilisi, August 27 2002, Civil Georgia) MFA of Georgia offered Moscow to create joint investigative commission to examine the August 23 bombardment case of Georgian territory.

According to spokesman of MFA Kakha Sikharulidze, “Georgian side confirmed its readiness to begin investigation of the case in order to find out the guilty in this barbaric action”.

The Observer Mission of OSCE at the Georgian-Russian border confirmed bombardment of Georgian territory.

Bombardment of Georgian territory on August 23 caused casualties: 1 person is dead and 7 wounded.
