Moscow Terrorist Attacker Suspect in Pankisi – Russian Security Service Claims

(Tbilisi, September 9, 2002 Civil Georgia) – Chief of the Investigative Department of the Russian Federal Security Service Ivan Mironov told the Russian daily the Rasiiskoe Gazeta, that Achimez Gachiaev, suspected in the terrorist attacks in Moscow in Autumn, 1999, is hiding in Pankisi gorge.

Russian Security official claims that Gachiaev led the terrorist attacks in Moscow, when the two apartment buildings were exploded. More than 300 civilians died as result of the terrorist act.

Ivan Mironov says that Russia is ready to provide Georgian side with all the necessary information proving Gachiaev’s involvement in Moscow terrorist attacks.
