AES-Telasi General Director Meets Interior Minister
(Tbilisi, September 9, 2002 Civil Georgia) – AES-Telasi general director Ignacio Iribarren holds meeting with the Georgian Interior Minister Koba Narchemashvili today to discuss the recent attacks against the company.
In the last two weeks there was two attacks against the AES district offices in Tbilisi. The murder of Nika Lominadze, financial manager of the AES-Telasi, killed in his apartment in August is still under investigation.
Recently AES-Telasi received the anonymous massage via post demanding from the company to leave Georgia.
The AES Corporation purchased Tbilisi electricity-distributing company Telasi for $25 million in 1998. The company recently increased the electricity tax that causes protest among Tbilisi residents.
