Russian Federal Council Hails Putin’s Statement

(Tbilisi, September 12, Civil Georgia) – “Russian Federal Council [upper breach of the Parliament] will support Russian President’s proposal to use Russian Federal Troops in Georgia’s Pankisi gorge to fight against terrorist,” Viktor Ozerov, the Chairman of the Russian Federal Council Committee on Security told the RIA Novosti news agency.

Russian senator expressed hope that the international community would support Russia in case of preventive strikes against the terrorist hiding in Georgia.

On September 11, Russian President Putin ordered Defense Minister to outline the plan for pre-emptive strikes.
