Pipes for Construction of Georgian Section of BTC Shipped in Batumi
(Tbilisi, January 22, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Georgian International Oil Corporation (GIOC) reports that the pipelines for construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline will be shipped in Georgian port of Batumi today.
The first quantity of the pipes was shipped in Georgian port of Poti on January 14, which is considered for the construction of the Azerbaijani section of the pipeline.
According to the GIOC the next quantity of pipes will be delivered in Georgia on February 1.
The BTC pipeline is to deliver Azeri oil to the western markets via Georgia and Turkey.
