Railway Chief to Lead New Pro-Governmental Movement

(Tbilisi. March 21, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Chief of the Georgian State Department of the Railway was elected as a chairman of the new political movement Great Silk Road.

President Shevardnadze attended the first congress of the movement, which declared to be the supporter of the government’s policy.

“We would like to see our members in the new Parliament, thus our movement will participate in the upcoming Parliamentary elections,” Akaki Chkhaidze said after the congress on March 20.
