MPs Fail to Agree on Election Code

(Tbilisi. May 2, 2003. Civil Georgia) – The group of MPs which works on the amendments to the Election Code fails to reach agreement on election system reform and composition of the Central Election Commission.

The group aims to work out one project out of two, proposed by the pro-governmental and opposition factions.

It is scheduled that the agreed project will be discussed at the Parliamentary session during the next week, however many MPs doubt that the project will be discussed as it is extremely difficult to reach an agreement.
