Security Chief Hails Russo-Georgian Cooperation Over Pankisi
(Tbilisi, May 13, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Secretary of the Georgian National Security Council Tedo Japaridze told the reporters today that Georgian and Russian law enforcers cooperate to avoid return of Chechen fighters in Pankisi gorge.
He said that the situation in Pankisi will deteriorate only ?in case of infiltration of Chechen fighters in the gorge from the Russian territory.?
Tedo Japaridze also hailed cooperation between the Georgian and Russian border guards, which follow the agreement reached by them last year.
