Georgian Delegation Participated in the Spring Session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly

(Tbilisi, May 30 2003, Civil Georgia) The Georgian parliamentary delegation, led by MP Giorgi Baramidze, took part in the spring session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Prague on May 24-28.

During his speech at the assembly Baramidze discussed the NATO-Georgian relations, Georgia’s role in the World Security System, Georgia-Russian relationship, as well as backing of separatism by Russia in the breakaway regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

Along with the heads of the Azerbaijani and Ukrainian delegations, Baramidze signed an agreement on cooperation with the purpose of further integration in NATO. 

Talks on cooperation are also being carried out with the Balkan countries.
