NATO Military Exercises Conducted in Yerevan

(Tbilisi, June 17 2003, Civil Georgia) The Exercises Cooperative Best Effort 2003 started on June 16 in the Armenian capital Yerevan in the frames of NATO/Partnership for Peace Program.

As the Georgian Defense Ministry reports, 9 students of the National Academy of the Defense Ministry and one officer are participating.

This is the first case the exercises are taking place in Armenia with the participation of about 400 militants from 19 countries. Along with the NATO member and partner states, Russia also participates in the exercises for the first time.
