Shevardnadze Left for GUUAM Summit in Ukraine
(Tbilisi, July 3, 2003, Civil Georgia) – Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze left for Yalta, Ukraine this morning to participate in the summit of the GUUAM member states (Georgia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Moldova) on July 3-4.
The Presidents of Azerbaijan, Moldova and Uzbekistan will not attend the summit.
The issues of free trade zone and anti-corruption programs will be discussed during the meeting.
President Shevardnadze will hold bilateral meeting with the Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma on July 3.
Georgian Foreign Minister Irakli Menagharishvili accompanies President Shevardnadze.
