Border Guard Commander Left for US
(Tbilisi, July 12, 2003, Civil Georgia) – Head of the State Border Guard Department of Valeri Chkheidze left for the United States on an official seven-day visit on July 12.
During the visit Chkheidze will meet with his American counterpart to discuss the work of the newly-established Coast Guard Department in Georgia.
The new department entitled to protect the coast line was created two months ago under the recommendation of the United States. The department has its own division in a western Georgian city of Poti and Adjarian capital Batumi.
