Jorbenadze Blames Abashidze for Budgetary Shortfall
(Tbilisi, July 16, 2003, Civil Georgia) – State Minister Avtandil Jorbenadze said today that Adjarian Autonomous Republic is to blame for budgetary shortfall.
Authorities of the Autonomous Republic refuse to transfer taxes to the central budget.
“We had to receive 40 million Lari from Adjara this year. However it did not happen, that is why we have to cut budgetary expenditures now,” Avtandil Jorbenadze told the reporters today.
On July 15 leader of Adjarian Autonomous Republic Aslan Abashidze slammed State Minister Avtandil Jorbenadze, who, according to the Adjarian leader, promised to transfer funds to the Adjarian budget for salaries, though did not keep his promise.
