Government Prepared Draft on Budgetary Correction

(Tbilisi, July 30, 2003, Civil Georgia) – At the government session of July 30 the Georgian Finance Ministry submitted a draft on budgetary correction, which considers cutting of the budgetary expenditures by 91 million Lari (approximately USD 42,7 million).

Later today the draft will be discussed at the meeting with State Minister Avtandil Jorbenadze and then sent to the Parliament for approval.

The IMF Mission, which visited Tbilisi on June 24-July 7, requested the government to fulfill its recommendations, including cutting of the budge!
tary expenditures, until August 15.
