EU Envoy, Parliamentary Chairperson Discussed Elections

(Tbilisi, July 30, 2003, Civil Georgia) – Georgian Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze met today with EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Heikki Talvitie beyond the closed doors.

The issues of preparation for the parliamentary elections scheduled for November 2 were discussed during the meeting. 

“Georgia is willing to hold fair elections and the European Union will assist the country in it. We are ready to give recommendations to the Georgian side,” the EU Special Representative told the reporters after the meeting.
