CEC to Recheck Voter List

In the wake of the protest of the opposition parties regarding inaccurate voter registry list, the Central Election Commission (CEC) decided today to recheck list.

Inaccurate voter registry list is one of the sources of ballot rigging. Opposition claims that there up to 600,000 additional voters, including many deceased persons on the list. 

Despite CEC’s decision to recheck the voter list, some observers cast doubts over the effectiveness of this process, as only three weeks are remaining before the November 2 parliamentary elections.
