Interior Minister Accuses Opposition of Inaccurate Voter Lists
Georgian Interior Minister Koba Narchemashvili accused today the old Central
Election Commission (CEC) and opposition parties of inaccuracy in voter lists,
however he did not specify why the opposition parties are to blame for the
problems in the lists.
“Inaccurate voter lists may be made by the
members of the previous Central Election Commission. Just the opposition parties
are interested in making inaccurate voter lists,” Koba Narchemashvili said at a
news briefing, which was held after the meeting with Chairperson of CEC Nana
Devdariani on October 18.
The majority of members of the previous CEC
were representatives of the presidential-backed political groups.
Earlier today Nana Devdariani met with the Interior Ministry to discuss
the measures necessary to make voter lists accurate.
