Georgia, Israel Vow to Boost Cooperation

Georgian Foreign Minister Irakli Menagarishvili, who is paying an official visit to Israel, met with his Israeli counterpart Silvan Shalom on October 27.

According to the Israeli Foreign Ministry the sides discussed a full range of bilateral and regional issues, including the international war on terror.

“Israel and Georgia both have much to gain from increased trade relations and joint economic endeavors. I look forward to working with my colleague to advance such initiatives, including major projects like the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline?, the Israeli Foreign Minister stated on October 27 after the meeting with Irakli Menagarishvili. 

The foreign ministers agreed on the importance of international cooperation in the war against terror, and expressed their commitment to ensuring that the values of democracy and stability prevail over those of tyranny and fear.
