Saakashvili: Shevardnadze Must Recognize Opposition Victory, or Resign

“We will continue protest rallies until President Shevardnadze recognizes the victory of the opposition in the elections, otherwise he must resign,” Mikheil Saakashvili said, while addressing thousands of protesters today. 

Up to 30 thousand people marched today from Tbilisi Municipality to the Parliament building protesting against the government and President Shevardnadze, accusing him of manipulation November 2 parliamentary election results.

“Our fight will be peaceful, but uncompromising,” Zurab Zhvania, another leader of the opposition stated.
