Saakashvili Met Jorbenadze
Mikheil Saakashvili, the opposition leader said today that following the mediation of the U.S. Embassy in Georgia he met Avtandil Jorbenadze, the State Minister and one of the leaders of the pro-presidential bloc For New Georgia late on November 12.
“I, once again, demanded from Jorbenadze and the government to recognize opposition’s victory in the November 2 parliamentary elections,” Mikheil Saakashvili said today.
“We also demand to punish those officials responsible for the ballot fraud,” he added.
Reports said today that other opposition leaders Nino Burjanadze and Zurab Zhvania intended to meet president Shevardnadze to find the ways out of the crisis, which was sparked after the fraudulent November 2 elections. However the Burjanadze-Democrats election bloc denied the report.
