Protest March Enters Tbilisi

Hundreds of cars, bases and minibuses of the protesters have already entered the capital city of Tbilisi to demand Shevardnadze’s resignation.

The protesters, led by key opposition leader Mikheil Saakashvili, intend to hold a peaceful protest rally in Tbilisi.

Meanwhile, the government-led rally continues outside the Parliament building, organized by the Revival Union, led by Adjarian leader Aslan Abashidze. Several hundreds of residents of Adjara Autonomous Republic joined today the rally.

The opposition claims most of the participants of the rally in front of the Parliament were forced to arrive in Tbilisi after the intimidation of the authorities.
