Interior Minister Resigned
Interior Minister Koba Narchemashivli resigned late on November 24 after pressure from the interim President of Georgia Nino Burjanadze and National Movement leader Mikheil Saakashvili.
Earlier on November 24 Narchemashvili refused to resign.
“I demand Interior Minister’s resignation. He poses threat to order,” Mikheil Saakashvili said.
Nino Burjanadze, who became the interim President of Georgia, after Eduard Shevardnadze resigned on November 23, said on November 24 that “two ministers remain a problem” for her.
She did not specify which ministers. However it became clear that Burjanadze hinted on Interior and Finance Ministers as did not attended the government meeting convened by Nino Burjanadze.
