Donor States to Finance Georgian Elections

International donor organizations and states pledged to allocate USD 6,4 million to help Georgia in holding presidential (January 4) and parliamentary (date has not been set yet) elections.

“I want to thank all of our friends who supported us… The whole OSCE community helped us,” Reuters reported quoting Georgian Interim President Nino Burjanadze, who participates in OSCE Ministerial Council in Maastricht.

Georgian budget allocated up to 6 million Lari (approximately USD 2,7 million) for holding November 2 parliamentary elections.
