Interim President Visited Pankisi

Interim President Nino Burjanadze visited Pankisi gorge on December 21 and inspected the checkpoints of the internal troops in the gorge.

Interior Minister Giorgi Baramidze accompanied Nino Burjanadze in Pankisi, which was a hideout for hundreds of Chechen militants.

Interior Minister said that there are no more armed groups in the gorge, as a result of the anti-crime operation, which was held in the gorge last year by the Georgian law enforcement agencies.
