Burjanadze Denies Georgia Harbors Terrorists
Interim President Nino Burjanadze, who visits Russia on December 24-25, dismissed Russian officialsâ accusations that Georgia harbors terrorists, as âgroundless.â
âI am surprised with the statement of Mr. Yastrzhembsky [Russian Presidentâs aide]. I think it is inadmissible to make statements like this, especially before the talks with Vladimir Putin,â Nino Burjanadze said. She will meet Russiaâs President on December 25.
Sergey Yastrzhembsky said at a news briefing on December 24, âGeorgia still remains a hide-out for terrorists, who infiltrate into Russia from the Pankisi gorge.â
