Six Members of CEC Resigned

Six members of the Central Election Commission (CEC), including Secretary of the CEC Dito Kitoshvili, filed today resignation, following the inauguration of Mikheil Saakashvili as a new President.

Five of them were appointed in the CEC by the Interim President Nino Burjanadze. President Saakashvili, who is currently visiting Strasbourg to address the CoE Parliamentary Assembly, has to appoint new members, or reject members’ resignation within five days.
