Saakashvili, Putin Meet in mid Feb

Mikheil Saakashvili is expected to visit Moscow on February 15 to hold talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

“I extended my hand to Russia as an expression of my desire to build new relations between our countries, with positive outcomes for Georgia and Russia,” Saakashvili said on January 28, while addressing the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe.

“It is my sincere hope that next month when I travel to Moscow, Mr. Putin will accept that hand,” he added.

Saakashvili will then travel to the United States and hold talks with the U.S. President George Bush on February 25.
