Deputy Chief of Wholesale Electricity Market Arrested
Georgian law-enforcement agencies today arrested Deputy Director General of the Wholesale Electricity Market of Georgia Ioseb Natroshvili for fraud allegations and tax evasion.
Natroshvili is accused of misappropriation of 2, 5 million Lari while being on the post of the Director General of the Wholesale Market in 2001-2002.
Director General of the Georgian Wholesale Electricity Market Alberto Solis condemned the fact of detention, saying that the law enforcers have not submitted any arrest warrant that is inadmissible.
The Wholesale Electricity Market of Georgia is managed for the past two years by the Spanish and UK consortium Iberdrola/IPA/OMEL.
Director General of the company Alberto Solis told reporters that he will notify both the British and Spanish embassies regarding the case.
Couple of days ago the law-enforcement agencies detained former director of the Electricity Wholesale Market Davit Jibgashvili for fraud allegations.
