Transport Minister Sentenced to Pre-Trial Detention

The court sentenced today acting Minister of Transport and Communications Merab Adeishvili to three-month pretrial detention.
 
He was arrested on February 3 for misuse of power and misappropriation of 500,000 million Lari. 
 
Merab Adeishvili denies accusation and claims it is politically-motivated. He launched a hunger strike and demands meeting with the General Prosecutor Irakli Okruashvili.
