Saakashvili: Russian Visit Great Success

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said today that his visit to Moscow was “very successful.”

“Much is to be done to improve relations. The relations between Georgia and Russia were rather complicated for past 12 years. However, the main thing is that positive trends have been achieved in the bilateral relations. It is very important,” Mikheil Saakashvili said at a news briefing on February 12 in Tbilisi.

Mikheil Saakashvili said that he invited Vladimir Putin to visit Georgia in September. “Signing of the framework agreement between the two counties is also expected during Mr. Putin’s visit,” he added.

The Georgian President visited Moscow on February 11 and discussed bilateral relationship with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and other high officials.
