CoE Secretary General in Batumi

Secretary General of the Council of Europe (CoE) Walter Schwimmer is visiting Adjarian capital Batumi today to hold talks with head of the Adjara Autonomous Republic Aslan Abashidze.

It is expected that the upcoming parliamentary elections and relations with the central authorities would top the agenda of talks between Schwimmer and Abashidze.

Simultaneously with the talks Abashidze’s opposition movement Our Adjara intends to hold a protest rally in Adjara with the demand to hold free and fair elections in the region.
