Saakashvili Supports Cancellation of Immunity for MPs

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said at a news briefing on February 20 that he supports cancellation of immunity for MPs.
 
“In Georgia very often a group of people, who has great incomes, do not pay taxes under the patronage of the MPs. They even need to become MPs to enjoy immunity,” Mikheil Saakashvili said on February 20.
 
He said he would urge the parliamentarians to support the draft law on cancellation of MPs’ immunity at the next session of the Parliament.
