Georgia, Russia Discussed Abkhaz, South Ossetian Conflicts
Georgian State Minister for conflict resolution issues Giorgi Khaindrava met on March 2 in Moscow with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Valerie Loshchinin, who is also the Russian President?s special envoy for Abkhaz conflict settlement.
As the Russian Foreign Ministry reports, the issues of the Abkhaz and South Ossetian conflict resolution were discussed at the meeting.
The sides also discussed the implementation of the agreements achieved during the recent visit of Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili to Moscow on February 10-11, regarding the implementation of the Sochi agreement achieved between ex-President Eduard Shevardnadze and Russian President Vladimir Putin in March 2003.
The Sochi agreement considers restoration of the railway link between Russia and Georgia via Abkhazia, rehabilitation of power facilities and safe return of IDPs to the Gali District.
