Opposition Activist Arrested in Adjara

Member of the opposition Our Adjara movement was arrested this morning in the capital of the Adjara Autonomous Republic Batumi.

Vazha Tavartkiladze of Our Adjara is accused of illegal possession of firearms; however Tavartkiladze?s relatives deny accusation and claim arrest is politically-motivated.

Today another member of the opposition movement Tengiz Apkhazava, who was kidnapped four days ago by unknown men, was found severely beaten in Batumi on March 11.
