Burjanadze, Abashidze Held Phone Talks

Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze today held a telephone conversation with Adjarian leader Aslan Abashidze.

“We discussed recent developments in Adjara. I hope we will find the way out. The Adjarian leader is ready for talks. So, I think we will launch talks, that is rather important at this stage,” Nino Burjanadze told reporters on March 16.

The Parliamentary Chairperson, who recently returned from Venice, where she attended the session of the Council of Europe Venice Commission, did not rule out that she might visit Batumi and meet Abashidze.
