CoE Envoy Met Adjarian Leader

Representative of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe (CoE) Plamen Nikolov met Adjarian leader Aslan Abashidze in Batumi for second time in last few weeks on April 12.

Reports say talks focused on distribution of constitutional powers between the central authorities of the country and the Adjarian Autonomy.

In February, Secretary General of the CoE Walter Schwimmer proposed to draft the law that would define the powers of the autonomy and offered the CoE expertise.

Last week Schwimmer’s representative in Georgia Plamen Nikolov visited Batumi and held talks with Aslan Abashidze.
