Adjarian Elections Date Approved

The Interim Council of Adjarian Autonomy approved June 20 as a date for holding snap local elections in the region.

Adjarian voters will elect 30-member Supreme Council ? the local legislative body.

Two-chamber Parliament of Adjara was disbanded after ex-Adjarian leader Aslan Abashidze fled to Moscow on May 6.
