Georgia Approved New Anthem

Today the Georgian Parliament approved, in a 128  to 5 vote with the second and third hearings, a new national anthem for Georgia. The first hearing was held on May 20.

The Parliament will now approve Georgia’s new national emblem, which has already been selected by a special jury.

By adopting the new emblem, Georgia will complete the process of changing its national symbols.

Since the “rose revolution” in November, Georgia has changed its national flag and now its anthem, so it is expected that Georgia will celebrate its Independence Day on May 26 with a new flag, anthem and emblem.
