Railway Chief to Visit Tskhinvali

The chief of the state-run Georgian Railway company, Davit Onoprishvili, will visit breakaway South Ossetia on June 3 to discuss the possibility of restoring the railway link between the self-styled region?s capital, Tskhinvali, and the rest of Georgia.
 
He also said that the Georgian Railway company will pay the salaries of the employees of the Ossetian railway.
 
The railway link between Tskhinvali and the rest of Georgia was suspended following the armed conflict in the early 1990s. President Saakashvili made a statement concerning restoration of the railway link at a news briefing on May 31.
